Glasgow is easily reached from all parts of the UK with excellent road links and frequent trains.  Glasgow Airport is just a 15 minute drive from the City Centre with frequent domestic services to London and other UK destinations.  For those travelling from further afield there are direct, scheduled flights to over 30 international destinations in Europe, North America and beyond.

Travel from Glasgow International Airport to City Centre 

Glasgow International Airport has an official shuttle service (Service 500) which leaves from outside the main terminal building. First's Glasgow Shuttle provides you with the most direct service between the airport and the main bus terminus, Buchanan Bus Station.

The service operates up to every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day, and takes only 25 minutes. All buses are low-floor for easy accessibility, and have luggage racks and free WiFi access to help you make the most of your journey time.

Edinburgh International Airport is Scotland’s largest airport serving a multitude of worldwide destinations. Edinburgh Airport is approximately 50 miles (1 hour) from Glasgow City Centre. The airport has bus stops and taxi ranks outside the main terminal building.

Travel from Edinburgh International Airport 

Travel to Glasgow from Edinburgh International Airport can be undertaken by car (Take the A80 and then M8 to Glasgow), by bus or by train.  There is an airport bus link into Edinburgh City Centre. Get off at Haymarket Station (next stop Waverley Station) and catch the rail shuttle to Glasgow Queen St.

Prestwick International Airport is Scotland’s only rail connected airport and is approximately a 45 minute journey to Glasgow Central Station. Prestwick is also Scotland's best-value airport, home to two major low cost carriers, Ryanair and Wizz, and is also famously known for Elvis’s visit to Scotland in 1960.

How to get to the venue by Rail 

Glasgow has two railway terminals: Queen St Station and Central Station. All trains from England arrive at Central Station. Alternatively it is possible to travel to Edinburgh and connect with the shuttle service to Glasgow Queen St Station. This service operates every 15 minutes until 19.30 during weekdays and Saturdays, half hourly at other times and on Sundays. www.nationalrail.co.uk

Glasgow Caledonian University is right in the centre of Glasgow. The main entrance is on Cowcaddens Road. For directions from your home or office visit  www.multimap.com and input G4 0BA for the destination postcode.

Parking

There are many car parks in close walking distance to Glasgow Caledonian University, however the closest is located directly across from the University main entrance on Cowcaddens Road. This is Concert Square Car Park. For further information please visit  www.cityparkingglasgow.co.uk

GCU staff and visitors are able to arrange car parking for £5 per day at the above parking area.  Details will be available upon registration..

The registration fees do not include the insurance of participants against personal accidents, sickness, cancellations by any party, theft, loss or damage to personal possessions. Participants are advised to take out adequate personal insurance to cover travel, accommodation, cancellation and personal effects
